An illustration about a musician and a fan of his.
Not to sound self-hating, I do like the concept
behind this but I think there are many things
here I've done before and it bothers me a lot.
Mark my words, my next drawing will not
be some kind of editorial-like illustration, it
is going to be character design related
so I can start doing new things.
I did a comic with Aristea and Enzo. I don't think I'm going to keep the beard on him though. Maybe if I make it shorter?
I don't understand how facial hair works.
I'm not good at writing so everytime I make a comic like that I need to restrain myself from trying to explain it or give unnecessary additional info.
I need to have faith in the people who read my stuff.
I had this very original idea of making a dorky angel and demon duo. Do not steal!1!!!
I like this way of inking but it takes forever to do and it only looks good on very simple drawings.
I wanted to draw something with my characters again (The woman with the pixie, the beatles hair guy
and the shadow thing with the eyes full of hatred I haven't drawn before) plus I wanted to try drawing
a crowd too, for a change. This was fun I almost never draw characters together in a scene.
I really want to do the project that these characters are in a ✨professional✨ and ✨proper✨ manner,
so I'm afraid there won't be an Ahoy!-like corner in my website with character descriptions of them and stuff.
The room of a sailor guy. I wanted to make it so that people can tell that he's
the one who drew the things with the blue lineart, I'm not sure if I achieved that.
My full illustrations take way longer to finish now but at least I'm satisfied with them in the long term.
I'm also glad how I picked a noticeably different colour palette from what I'm used to, there are some colour combinations
that I use way too much.
Ktisis, the personification of donation or foundation.
The mosaic is from the 500s and it's probably of North African origin.
The concept she represents is very intriguing to me. Did they used
to put mosaics of her into buildings as a form of "thanks" to those who gave
the money to make the building? Is money ( the donation) given (so the workers
and engineers get paid and the materials for the bulding to be built get bought) alike
what foundation is to a building? There's not much information on the matter
from what I can find online.
This took me an unjustifiably long time
to finish but I can say with joy that I'm
100% satisfied with it. It's about spring.
I once again I dipped my toes into drawing folk costumes, this time with
a cypriot donkey girl from the Karpas region. The patterns used as
decoration are inspired by textiles from Cyprus.
Paraskevi (again) and that character
whose name I will change soon.
Sharing information about certain projects is hard
plus I like keeping some things mysterious
on purpose. I hope people don't think
I'm just mashing random things together
with no intentions.
I'm happy about the composition but I wish
I had used more than 1 brush to draw this.
