His name is Luciano and he's also from Paraskevi's universe. I'm planning
to draw and write more stuff about them soon.
I'm genuinely sorry to anyone who isn't interested in Paraskevi, she's all I've been drawing this year lol.
This time though I also drew another character from her "universe", Aristea, so I hope that makes it up somehow.
I wanted this to look like a fancy jewelry ad you'd see on a magazine.
I'm extremely proud of this! It's probably my favourite thing I've drawn so far. I think I captured the
atmosphere I was going for very well. I do fear though that she (Paraskevi) is not that appealing to others...
I gotta draw her doing more interesting stuff.
When I was little squirrel monkeys were my fave animal
and I had a stuffed animal resembling one named Skipper.
So when I was trying to come up with ideas for
a children's book illustration I decided to do something
with him. He was not a sailor though originally, I must add.
Drawing backgrounds is a lot of fun actually if you don't care about perspective
and you enjoy drawing little objects. This is supposed to be Paraskevi again.
I like how this looks but I feel like I'm doing the same thing over and over again with the
sea-related art. I'll try to draw other things in the next few months unless it's for the Ahoy! page.
The moment I saw this picture I immediately knew I had to draw him! He’s the obscure greek deity
Phorcys and this is a late Roman mosaic from Tunisia. I drew him holding a red mullet with his left hand
because I think the basket looks kind of lame.
A rare fanart piece (it's from chainsaw man)! Aki is one
of the most intriguing characters to me, I could talk about him for hours.
I almost died while trying to colour this piece, I can't pick a decent
palette to save my life.
I basically drew this to prove myself that I can still draw full-bodies with ""realistic"" proportions.
There's a chance I'll edit it later to make the grape pattern more detailed.
Lady lent (Kira Sarakosti) is a
type of calendar with a woman figure
whose legs represent the seven weeks of the eastern
orthodox Lent. She’s not supposed to have a mouth or in
some cases a nose for the sake of symbolism but I took
a little creative liberty with her.
It’s probably a good chance to state
that even though there may be sometimes christian themes
in my work, I’m an atheist. Gotta love Easter though,
there are some fun activities to do.
Although this began as a sketch, after a while I wanted to make something more detailed than usual.
I don’t think I achieved that, and I'm not sure if the symbolism works either.
Not to sound bitter I just ended up spending a lot of time on it and I had higher hopes.
This piece was an exercise. My goal was to emulate how woodcuts
look (think of Sikeliotis, Frans Masereel or Tassos Alevizos)
but with
some alterations so it'd fit my style better. Thematically it's a bit
uninspired, I want to do another piece, this time more nuanced using
the same method.
I really want to draw people in folk clothes more often but I
struggle with drawing detailed garments. That's why here I went with an
even more cartoon-ish stylet than usual. It definitely
didn't end up 100% accurate but I still like how it looks.
